ANOTHER SEASON! Happy Summer Solstice. Funny enough, it’s one of my least favorite astronomical days of the year (since from here on out the days start to get shorter).
Here are a few little thing I love right now…
embracing my invisible details
The other day I absolutely ripped through this book in one sitting1. Probably because being “unreasonable” has always resonated with me (😎). The book hit a few tender heartstrings from a past life. In particular, there was a small section on “invisible details” — the things that no one really sees but all together make a big impact. He talks about this in reference to some blue tape holding a table cloth on the underside of a table and a few other examples that are small but significant. Having hospitality as the bedrock of my core values means paying special attention to these invisible details where they show up in my life. I’m obsessed with rediscovering and acknowledging my own invisible details right now.
having liquid death water on subscribe and save
ACTUALLY the water delivery is such a great invisible detail. I recently started getting regular re-occurring deliveries of liquid death mountain water2 (my current favorite water)3 every two weeks. It is an absolutely perfect small luxury. It is also the best refreshment to toss at a friend when they stop by. Murder your thirst or whatever!!
sitting down for coffee
What a serious pleasure. To-go cups are cancelled this summer.
streaks
I am no longer at war with the Duolingo Owl. I love a streak. I have a few very hot streaks right now, including being 5 days out from ONE STRAIGHT YEAR of closing my Apple Watch rings every day (originally inspired by
‘s post linked below). I have some other streaks that are bigger than Duolingo & this little newsletter. Happy to talk about them over a sit down coffee if you find me in the wild 😚doing the things you say you’re going to do
More to come on this. heh.
Take care of yourselves & each other 😘 xoxox
Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect by Will Guidara. And it was one DAY, not necessarily one sitting... I moved around a bit lol.
Shoutout to Virginia B. and her Beverage Fridge™
It is normal to have a favorite water.
